Recreational Robots
Robots have many uses, one of them is for sport. At many High Schools around the world there are robotics teams in a league called FRC. FRC stands for First Robotic Competition it was founded by Dean Kamen. The FRC is an amazing for every high school student. There are a few difference between FRC and other "normal sports". One is that its a lot easier to go "pro", not everyone can play in the NFL or MLB, but anyone can become an engineer. The FRC is also very inclusive you don't have to be very good to join an FRC team there is a job for everyone on the team. Our team at Rio Americano, Raiders Robotics 4698 is a good team with low funding but we still managed to qualify for the World Championship in 2018 for the first time since 2013 when we were founded.

Non - Adaptive Robots
A Non-adaptive robot is a robot that can be programmed and told what to do and thats all it does. Most non-adaptive robots are used in factories to build certain products and they all have a certain task and thats all they do unlike adaptive robots that can move on there own do different tasks and they adjust based on there enviorment.

Adaptive Robot
Hitachi released a new robot called Emiew (Excellent Mobility and Interactive Existence as Workmate). It is and adaptive robot that is 4.2 feet tall and weights 154 lb. It can move at a whole 3.7 mi/hr. Emiew can talk with a vocabulary of 100 words. Emiew uses wheels instead of feet, it has 2 wheels, which allows it to be one of the worlds quickest moving robots. Hitachi's Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory explained why they used wheels instead of feet, saying: "We aimed to create a robot that could live and co-exist with people." They are trying to make a robot useful for people and a robot that moves slower then the people would get frustrating.

Industrial Robots
Industrial Robots are robots that are used to manufacture good such as cars. These robots can paint, weld, and screw in parts. The most common type of industrial robots are articulated robot. An articulated robot is a robot with rotary joints. Articulated robots can range from simple two-jointed structures to systems with 10 or more interacting joints. They are powered by a variety of means, including electric motors.

Domestic Robots
Roomba is a domestic robot that vacuums your house for you. The Roomba is small thin cylinder that is 13.9in wide and 3.6 in tall. The Roomba learns by running into things and learning the layout of your house, it eventually can't move around the house vacuuming without running into walls or furniture.

Purpose of Robots
Robots have changed the way we do things and have even changed our economy. Robots are taking jobs that were once held by people and over time saving company's money. They don't have to be paid and they can work 24/7. The robots do not need a clean or friendly environment, they can work in any environment some that are unsuitable for humans to work in. Robots are everywhere even in peoples houses there are robots that can vacuum your house for you or mow your lawn. Japan has robots that can talk and move around, they have even gone out in public. They are also creating robots that can paint walls. Robots haven't taken all jobs yet and there are some that they might never take. Robots are programmed to do certain tasks and get things done with perfection, they will probably never become part of the sports world because if everyone in sports was perfect nothing would happen. Robots are useful for helping people with disabilities because they are more reliable they wont get sick or hurt and they have no where else to be they can be 24/7 care for the elderly. A robot was used in 2008 called the Scarlett night and it was sent across the Atlantic ocean to explore then bottom mapping it out. Doing this is too dangerous for humans because they could get trapped and would take too long this little Robot didnt have to stop and if somethings happened it could be replaced. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory also sent a Robot to mars called the mars rover, sending a human to mars was too dangerous because it was too long of a journey and they might not have made it home

Everything in the robot is connected to the circuit board and depending on the action that it wants to do it flips the switch for the right motor or valve that makes it function. A Little about the FRC

The FRC takes a lot to be a good team. You have to know a lot about drive trains, programming, gear boxes, safety, and there is a whole lot more. The best way to be a good team is to divide the tasks among the teams, make sure everyone knows a little of different aspects.
